Coupons as a Marketing Tool
Discount codes are one of the most effective tools for converting hesitant shoppers and winning back lapsed customers. Cavaco AI's Coupons module allows you to create and manage discount codes directly in the platform, then seamlessly embed them into your campaigns and automations.
Creating a Coupon
- Navigate to Asset Collections > Coupons in the main navigation.
- Click Create Coupon.
- Choose the coupon type:
- Percentage Discount: e.g., 15% off the entire order.
- Fixed Amount Discount: e.g., $10 off orders over $50.
- Free Shipping: Waives shipping costs at checkout.
Static vs. Unique Codes
Cavaco supports two types of coupon codes:
- Static Code: A single code that many customers can use (e.g., SUMMER20). Good for public promotions and social media campaigns.
- Unique Codes: A batch of single-use codes, each assigned to one customer. Prevents code sharing and provides better attribution. This is the recommended approach for automated drip campaigns.
Using Coupons in Campaigns
When building an email or SMS campaign, use the {{coupon_code}} personalization tag to automatically insert the unique code for each recipient. For drip campaigns, Cavaco assigns a unique code to each customer when they enter the automation flow.
Tracking Redemptions
Monitor coupon performance in Asset Collections > Coupons. You can see how many codes have been distributed, how many have been redeemed, and the total revenue generated by each coupon campaign.
