Once you've designed your email or SMS templates, the next step is to assign them to your automated flows or scheduled campaigns. This connects your content to the audience and timing rules you've defined.
1. Assigning Templates to Automated Campaigns (Flows)
Automated campaigns, such as Welcome Series or Abandoned Cart flows, use a visual journey builder.
- Navigate to Campaigns and open the automated campaign you want to edit.
- In the journey builder canvas, locate the specific message node (e.g., "Send Email 1" or "Send SMS").
- Click on the node to open its settings panel.
- In the settings panel, look for the Content or Template section.
- Click Select Template.
- A modal will appear showing your saved templates. Browse or search for the template you want to use.
- Select the template and click Apply.
- The node will now display the selected template. You can preview it directly from the node settings.
2. Assigning Templates to Scheduled Broadcasts
Scheduled broadcasts are one-time messages sent to a specific segment at a specific time.
- Navigate to Campaigns and click Create Campaign.
- Choose the Broadcast or Scheduled campaign type.
- In the campaign setup wizard, proceed to the Content step.
- Select the channel (Email or SMS).
- Click Choose Template.
- Select your desired template from the library.
- You can make final adjustments to the template content specifically for this broadcast without affecting the original saved template.
3. A/B Testing Templates
To optimize your campaigns, you can A/B test different templates.
- In an automated campaign node or a broadcast setup, look for the Add Variant or A/B Test option.
- Click it to create a second variant (Variant B).
- Select a different template for Variant B, or duplicate the first template and make a small change (like the subject line or hero image).
- Set the distribution split (e.g., 50/50). Cavaco AI will automatically send the variants to different portions of your audience and track which performs better.
