Once you understand the principles of IP warmup, you need to execute the schedule within Cavaco AI. This involves creating specific segments and scheduling campaigns to hit your daily volume targets.
1. Prepare Your Engaged Segment
First, ensure you have created a segment containing only your most engaged users (e.g., "Opened in last 30 days" OR "Purchased in last 60 days"). You will use this segment for all warmup sends.
2. Using the "Limit Sending Volume" Feature
Cavaco AI provides a feature to limit the number of emails sent in a specific campaign. This is perfect for warmup.
- Navigate to Campaigns and click Create Campaign.
- Set up your campaign as usual (select your engaged segment, choose your template).
- In the Review & Schedule step, look for the Advanced Settings or Sending Options.
- Enable the option to Limit Sending Volume or Batch Sending.
- Enter the target volume for that day (e.g., 50 for Day 1).
- Schedule the campaign.
3. The "Slice" Method (Alternative)
If you prefer more manual control, you can create "slice" segments to target specific numbers of users.
- Go to Audience > Segments.
- Create a new segment.
- Set the first condition to include your main "Engaged Users" segment.
- Add a condition to limit the size (e.g., using a random sample or limiting by ID) to match your daily target (e.g., 50 users).
- Create your campaign and target this specific slice segment.
- Repeat this process for each day, creating a new slice segment (e.g., 100 users, 200 users) and excluding the users who have already received an email.
4. What Content to Send During Warmup
The content you send during warmup is critical. It must be highly engaging to encourage opens and clicks.
- Send your best content: Newsletters with high historical engagement, major announcements, or exclusive offers.
- Avoid purely promotional "salesy" emails: These often have lower engagement and higher spam complaint rates.
- Ask for engagement: Include clear calls to action (e.g., "Reply to this email," "Click here to read more").
5. Handling Automated Flows During Warmup
Your automated flows (like Welcome Series or Abandoned Cart) also contribute to your sending volume. These are generally high-engagement emails, which is good for warmup.
- Turn on your most critical flows (Welcome, Abandoned Cart) early in the warmup process.
- Monitor their volume. If your flows are sending 100 emails a day, and your target for Day 3 is 200, you only need to send a broadcast campaign to 100 users.
6. Adjusting the Schedule
The warmup schedule is a guideline, not a rigid rule. If you see excellent engagement (high opens, no spam complaints), you can accelerate the schedule slightly. If you see poor engagement or high bounces, slow down, pause sending, and clean your list before resuming.
