Learn how to create, customize, and save email templates using Cavaco AI's drag-and-drop editor, including personalization and mobile previews.

Cavaco AI provides a powerful drag-and-drop email editor that lets you build stunning, responsive email templates. You can create templates from scratch or customize our pre-built layouts to match your brand.

1. Accessing the Template Library

  1. Navigate to Channels > Email > Library in the left sidebar.
  2. Here you will find a collection of pre-designed templates for various use cases (e.g., newsletters, promotions, abandoned cart).
  3. To start with a blank canvas, click Create Template and select the Manual option.

2. Using the Drag-and-Drop Editor

The email editor is divided into three main sections:

  • The Canvas: The central area where you build your email.
  • The Tools Panel (Left): Contains content blocks (Text, Image, Button, Divider, Social) and layout structures (Columns, Rows).
  • The Settings Panel (Right): Context-sensitive settings that change based on what you have selected on the canvas.

Adding Content

  1. Drag a layout block (e.g., a single column or two columns) from the Tools panel onto the canvas.
  2. Drag content blocks (e.g., an Image or Text block) into the layout block.

Customizing Elements

  1. Click on any element on the canvas to select it.
  2. Use the Settings panel on the right to adjust its properties:
    • Text: Change font, size, color, alignment, and line height.
    • Images: Replace the placeholder image, adjust size, add alt text, and link the image.
    • Buttons: Change button text, background color, border radius, and link URL.
    • Padding & Margin: Adjust the spacing around elements to create breathing room.

3. Personalization and Dynamic Content

You can personalize your emails using data from your customer profiles.

  1. Click inside a text block.
  2. Click the Merge Tags or Personalize icon in the text toolbar.
  3. Select the attribute you want to insert (e.g., First Name). It will appear as a placeholder like {{ contact.first_name }}.

4. Previewing and Testing

Always test your emails before using them in a campaign.

  1. Click the Preview button at the top of the editor.
  2. Toggle between Desktop and Mobile views to ensure your design is responsive.
  3. Send a test email to yourself or your team to verify how it renders in actual email clients.

5. Saving and Organizing

  2. Click Save.
  3. Your saved templates will be available in Channels > Email > My Templates.
