Why Segmentation Matters

Sending the same message to everyone is a recipe for low engagement. Cavaco AI's segmentation engine allows you to group customers based on their actions, ensuring your marketing is highly relevant and personalized.

Dynamic vs. Static Segments

Cavaco supports two types of lists:

  • Static Lists: A fixed group of contacts you manually upload or add. Good for one-off event attendees.
  • Dynamic Segments: Rules-based groups that automatically update as customers meet (or fail to meet) the criteria. Essential for automated campaigns.

Building a Segment

To create a new dynamic segment:

  1. Go to Audiences > Segments and click Create Segment.
  2. Give your segment a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "VIP Customers - Over $500 LTV").
  3. Click Add Rule to define the criteria.

Common Rule Types

  • Purchase Behavior: Total spent, number of orders, days since last order.
  • Email Engagement: Opened email in last 30 days, clicked specific link.
  • Site Activity: Visited specific product page, abandoned cart.
  • Demographics: Location, signup date.

Using AND / OR Logic

You can combine multiple rules using AND/OR logic to create highly specific segments. For example: "Customers who have spent over $500 (AND) have not purchased in the last 90 days" creates a perfect VIP Win-back segment.
