Creating the Campaign
- Navigate to Campaigns > Create Campaign.
- Select Automated Drip as the campaign type.
- Choose the Abandoned Cart Recovery template from the library, or start from scratch.
Defining the Trigger
The trigger is the event that starts the automation. Set the trigger to Event: Cart Abandoned.
Building the Flow
A best-practice recovery flow looks like this:
Step 1: The Gentle Reminder (Email)
- Wait Time: 1-2 hours after abandonment.
- Content: A simple, helpful email reminding them of what they left behind. Include dynamic product blocks showing their exact items.
Step 2: The Urgent Follow-up (SMS)
- Wait Time: 24 hours after abandonment.
- Condition: Only send if Step 1 was not clicked AND order was not placed.
- Content: A short text message, perhaps offering a small incentive (e.g., "Still thinking about it? Use code SAVE10 for 10% off your cart.").
Step 3: The Final Offer (Email)
- Wait Time: 48 hours after abandonment.
- Condition: Only send if order was not placed.
- Content: A stronger incentive or urgency play (e.g., "Your cart is about to expire").
Activating the Campaign
Once your messages are drafted and the flow is built, click Review & Activate. Cavaco will run a final check to ensure all links and dynamic tags are working before turning the campaign on.
